Current Job Description
a)
Accountant / Controller who can enable the company to grow by
providing relevant financial information and projections, and managing the bookkeeping
functions of the organization.
b)
Responsibilities:
·
maintain
all bookkeeping functions in QuickBooks
·
maintain
all bookkeeping documents and files in an organized manner
·
communicate
with owner regarding all financial matters and reports
c)
As firm grows, salaries and benefits will grow with firm. Plan
to have traditional medical and dental for all by year end of 2006.
d)
Current salary offer is firm at $60,000 base, $1,500 stipend
after 6 months employment for health benefits, and, 1 week paid vacation after
first year's employment.
e)
Current Duties:
·
banking
/ deposits, and bank reconciliations
·
posting
credit card charges, reconciling credit card statements
·
accounts
payable
·
assisting
with accounts receivable
·
cash
flow management as needed
·
processing
payroll and tracking employee time
·
providing
financial statements and other reports as requested
·
Obtain
billable hours from attorneys and create invoices around this.

Authority:
·
All
accounting / bookkeeping functions, with the exception of certain portions of
accounts receivable
·
Deposits
of checks
g)
No Authority:
·
Check
signing
h)
Specific Deliverables:
·
Payment
to vendors and credit cards must be processed and prepared timely, handled
weekly.
·
Payroll
for employees must be processed timely on a bi-weekly basis.
·
Bank
deposits should be prepared weekly.
·
Weekly
status reports
·
Financial
reports as requested
·
1099’s/1096
should be prepared after year-end and sent out by deadlines
·
Any
other tasks assigned involving financial information, projections or analysis.
·
Accounts
receivables posted daily and/ or latest by end of week. Preference is daily.

Knowledge
·
Quickbooks
pro 2004-high level.
·
Quickbooks
pro-billing program
·
Excel
spreadsheets
·
Budgeting
models
·
Other
professional reports for accounting and financial management purposes.
j)
Education and Experience
·
At
least five years of experience at company (law firm, hopefully), as a
controller with either greater than three (3) million in revenue and/ or
greater than twenty (20) employees.
·
CPA
a major plus. (We will still outsource returns.)
·
Undergraduate
degree required in accounting.
