In this session, we will discuss various fundraising methods and rules and regulations that one needs to know in connection with fundraising. We will discuss things like fundraising events, raffles, gaming, mailers, joint venture with for profits, fundraising in other states; we will talk about hiring and the use of professional fundraisers. We will go into specific discussion about real fundraising examples, including silent auctions, and, "auction experiences", gold parties, etc. This will be a participating class. We will talk about self-dealing rules as it pertains to fundraising too.
In this session, we will discuss the various benefits, hurdles and detriments to these transactions. We will look at this subject not only from a case study level but also from a macro level; we will look at sectors in the nonprofit sector too. In addition, we will discuss the various methods to engage in these types of transactions legally and the specific, tangible goals that organizations should know at the onset in what they are trying to accomplish.
We will cover a due diligence checklist of items.
