NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS
With an emphasis in tax-exempt nonprofits, Seton & Associates has achieved distinction in the handling of issues pertaining to nonprofit organizations.  Much of our staff have devoted their time to serve as volunteers or board directors to some very well-known local and national nonprofit organizations, such as First Book – LA, the Arthritis National Research Foundation and the Wright Institute of Los Angeles.  With our commitment to community service and extensive knowledge in various aspects of the nonprofit sector, we represent 501(c)(3)  and other tax-exempt organizations from formation to dissolution and with ongoing legal representation ? A 501(c)(3) organization is just one of twenty-two different types of organizational tax exemptions granted by the IRS under section 501 of the Code.  501(c)(3) exemptions are for “charitable,  educational, and religious” organizations.

With record breaking numbers, we form approximately two hundred different nonprofit organizations on a monthly basis.  Our Firm is keenly interested in assisting organizations that service the youth, provide humanitarian relief and social service, preserve the environment, and contribute towards the advancement of healthcare, the arts, culture and religion.  Many of these organizations seek our firm for continued advice in ongoing reporting requirements, compliance, board development, fundraising rules and employment matters.

In addition to the formation of 501(c)(3) and other tax-exempt organizations, we educate our clients on how to operate and maintain their organizations.  Our managing partner, Kent E. Seton, is often quoted in publications and regularly speaks at conferences and seminars about the many aspects of the nonprofit sector including fundraising, recruiting volunteers, corporate governance, how to attract donors, executive compensation, board development, and achieving 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.

BUSINESS LAW TRANSACTIONS
Our firm uses well thought out strategies to structure a wide range of business transactions for clients.  Whether working with a start-up entity, a matured business, or an individual, we provide assistance to businesses and individuals involving entity formation, dissolution and various business agreements, such as Non-Disclosure and Production agreements.  We emphasize establishing long-term relationships built on personalized attention and in-depth understanding of our clients' operations and legal requirements and counsel a variety of different businesses on various activities throughout their business life cycles.  Our firm has also formed several thousand entities over the years and many of these clients continue to seek our firm for continued services in relation to their entities.
